YONKERS, NEW YORK — Silver Star Transportation, a leading transportation provider serving Westchester County and New York City, is excited to announce its successful partnership with Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley in hosting the inaugural Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley Holiday Lights Express.
This heartwarming event spread holiday cheer and brought joy to the hearts of extraordinary ‘wish kids’ and their families.
Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley works to grant the wishes of children diagnosed with critical illnesses, providing them with hope, strength, and unforgettable experiences. In the United States, Make-A-Wish fulfills a wish every 34 minutes, profoundly impacting the lives of children and their families.
The Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley Holiday Lights Express, presented by Silver Star Transportation, took place on December 5th. The event started with a delightful party at the Wish House in Tarrytown, New York, where wish kids and their loved ones were treated to hot cocoa, seasonal treats, and a special visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Then, the night’s highlight was the distribution of magic tickets and a roaring announcement of “all aboard” when the families boarded the Express to Dyker Heights Holiday Lights to take in the neighborhood’s famous holiday decorations.
During the enchanting journey, Spread Love NYC Tours provided narration of the stunning holiday lights.
“This event was so special,” said Mario Da Rocha Jr., Chief Operating Officer of Silver Star Transportation. “Silver Star is proud to have been a part of this; anytime Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley calls on us, we are excited to play any part we can in brightening the day of these awesome wish kids and their families.”
The Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley, Holiday Lights Express, would not have been possible without the generous support of its partners and sponsors:
- Gil Abreu of Woodbury Bus (@woodburybus) for photography and videography.
- Spread Love NYC Tours (@spreadlovetours) for serving as onboard tour guides.
- Christmas Lighting Company (LightsByCLC@gmail.com) for decorating the Tarrytown Wish House.

About Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley
Make-A-Wish® Hudson Valley creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We seek to bring every eligible child’s wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Research shows children who have received a wish are able to build the physical and emotional strength needed to fight critical illnesses. Since its inception in 1986, the Hudson Valley Chapter has granted wishes to over 3,200 children in the community it serves. The Chapter’s territory spans eight counties of the Hudson Valley, including Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester. The Chapter is a Better Business Bureau Wise Alliance Accredited Charity, meeting the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability. Additionally, a recent independent audit of the chapter reported that 67% of all funds raised go to program services. For more information about the Hudson Valley Chapter
